A Gift from Raison D’être Dance Project + Nathan Norby
Make it an Offering.
Make it an Honoring.
Make it Love.
As a child I was so quiet, I often felt invisible.
I was so shy, I often felt unheard.
Then, I met Trav and I felt seen + heard fully for the first time in my life.
And, not only seen + heard but cherished. And, not only cherished but Loved.
In the midst of a chance to Love such a Golden Heart - I learned the Art of mutually advocating, championing, encouraging, challenging, pushing one another. Ever expanding. Ever showing more of ourselves to one another until we could see it all. And, as we learned one another fully, we could offer our deeper Selves out to others. Build Connection.
Our relationship was never just us. We held deep relationships with Others. Have you seen these folks around us? They are stunning. So stunning. I often told Trav that this must be my Magical Lifetime, when I had the chance to love all the folks I have ever loved in all my lifetimes, right here, in this one.
How else could I explain the chance to Love him and to walk together with such deep friendships, mentors, community?
The women of Raison D’être Dance Project and Nathan Norby they are our people. We have collaborated, created, and loved one another. They came to my house after my Greatest Love died, to give me this gift, all together. They choreographed this dance for us, they went to the mountains, they danced and filmed, mourned and loved and thought, they held and offered. They Honored.
A tremendous gift.
Their Hearts.
Their Art.
Their Arms.
Their Hearts, they make me feel seen and heard. Cherished and Loved. They make me feel the depth of our shared relationships: Connections.
They hold the sadness and loss, the love and gratitude together. They hold me.
They made it an offering.
They made it an honoring.
They made it love.
They made a most treasured gift for me. For Trav. For Love.
And, also, they knew, they’ve known, their hearts just do, our responsibility to take the time to speak to listen to hold to cherish to expand our own cores. To reach within the depths of self and hold the Golden Core. To reach within and hand it out. All connection. When we reach within and hand out freely. This is love. This is Art. This is when the quiet and shy boy or girl, man or woman, doesn’t feel alone.
Honoring.
Offering.
Loving.
Holding.
